Faith in Prayer
Mark 11:24 (KJV) “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”
Prayer is the lifeline of faith. It is not simply speaking words into the air, but approaching the throne of God with confidence that He hears and answers. Jesus taught that prayer must be joined with belief — not doubting, not wavering. James 1:6 says: “But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.”
Faith in prayer means trusting God’s timing and His wisdom. Sometimes the answer is immediate, sometimes delayed, and sometimes different from what we expect. Yet every prayer of faith is heard. Hannah prayed for a child, and though she waited, God gave her Samuel (1 Samuel 1:27). Elijah prayed, and fire fell from heaven (1 Kings 18:37–38). The early church prayed, and Peter was miraculously released from prison (Acts 12:5–7).
Prayer at the family altar strengthens collective faith. When a household prays together, heaven responds with multiplied power. Matthew 18:19 declares: “If two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.” Agreement in prayer is a force that shakes the enemy’s gates and opens doors of blessing.
Faith in prayer is not about eloquence but about trust. It is believing that God is faithful, that His promises are true, and that He delights to answer His children.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, teach us to pray with unwavering faith. Let our petitions rise from hearts that trust You fully. May our family altar be a place where prayers are answered, miracles are birthed, and Your glory is revealed. Strengthen our faith to believe that when we pray, You hear and You respond. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
