God’s Pattern
The void, darkness, and disorder that swept across the earth before creation mirrors the lives of many individuals. Very few have a clear sense of purpose; the majority are living in darkness and disorder, unaware of their earthly assignments. This chaos in the human soul has adversely affected our judgment about life and immensely corrupted our morality. Undoubtedly, our present condition reflects the state of the earth before the Lord intervened.
When it comes to bringing order to the human soul, God’s approach is unchanging. He takes the same approach he used on the earth. In Genesis 1:3, we see the first thing he did: “And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.” He did not begin by creating gold, silver, or mountains; his immediate step was to clear the darkness engulfing the earth by bringing forth light.
Like the earth that was void and in darkness, sin has darkened and shattered the world. Hence every solution, aside from the supernatural light, is secondary, lacking sufficient capacity. History clearly testifies to this: No amount of human intelligence and technological advancement has been able to dissolve the darkness and fill the void in the human soul. Up to this day, we are still struggling with the very challenges that crippled our forefathers.
Man’s problem does not result from the economic or political crisis raging across the nations like wildfire. The root cause of all our struggles is spiritual, stemming from the darkness enveloping our hearts, and this explains why supernatural light, and not money or other secondary blessings, is the first thing God imparted in our spirits the day we accepted Christ as our Lord.
From Glory to Glory
But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
2 Corinthians 3:18 (KJV)
However, while countless believers have become passive in their walk with the Lord, scripture makes it clear that salvation is not the ultimate accomplishment. After God translated us from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light, the next call is for us to ascend from glory to glory.
Despite being children of God and citizens of the same kingdom, we are not the same. The word of God speaks about the greater and the lesser lights, and as believers, our difference is based on the demission of glory each of us operates from, while the majority have settled at the low level, a number heed the call and ascend into the higher realm of glory.
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Genesis 1:2 (KJV)
Our focus is on “Increasing The Light In Your Life” because as this light increases, you automatically transition to the next dimension of glory. In the succeeding study, we will look at the dimensions of the supernatural light and how to increase them in your life.
